I still remember the day. It was just another regular afternoon, and we were all hanging out, joking around as usual. Suddenly, he walked up to me with this overly serious look on his face and said, "I like you."

I could see right through it. The dramatic pause, the way his friends were barely containing their laughter in the background — it was obvious. This was just another one of their silly pranks. But instead of playing along with the joke, I decided to turn the tables.

So, I looked him straight in the eyes, pretending to take a moment to think, and then confidently said, "No."

The look on his face was priceless. For a second, he didn't know what to do. The joke had flipped on him, and suddenly, it was his turn to be caught off guard. Sure, his friends got their laugh, but I walked away feeling like I had the last word.

But here’s the part I didn’t tell anyone. Deep down, I felt a sting of sadness. A part of me wished that those words had been real, that he actually meant it. Even though I played it cool, I couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if he had genuinely liked me. For a moment, I got a glimpse of something sweet, and then it vanished just as quickly.

It felt like I was living in a rom-com where every glance felt like a scene straight out of a movie. This crush lasted almost until 10th standard, and let me tell you, it was quite the rollercoaster! But let’s be honest: those moments can lead to some hilarious overthinking, like analysing every emoji they send. 🙈

Picture this: I had a crush on this adorable guy( for now we will name him Pineapple) since 6th standard. He was respectful and treated every girl with kindness, making my heart flutter every time he walked by. Can you blame me? 💭 Fast forward to 9th standard, and this crush was still going strong. I couldn’t help but daydream about him and all the possibilities.

Then came the day during a game of truth or dare when his turn arrived, and he got dared to propose to me! I had no idea what was going on at the moment. I thought it might be a genuine moment until laughter erupted around us. I was completely clueless! One of my friends secretly dared Pineapple, and then we all headed to the dining hall.

It wasn’t until we moved to the dining hall that I finally started to piece everything together. While chatting with my friends, I overheard them talking about the game and realized it had all been a setup! Suddenly, it all clicked—the laughter, the excitement, and the prank. He had pulled off a classic fake proposal without me having a clue!
